The great thing about St. Louis is that it seems to have a lot of free activities throughout the year. We are cheap, we love free! The Muny is just one of those things that I like to do every year. Just once and just in the free seats. I am not much of a theater person (especially if I’ve already seen the movie.) I just tend to leave the theater saying “yeah, it was okay but the movie was better.” But I do love the experience.
This year’s experience was great. Great friends, great weather, great food. I will say that the show itself is not what I would classify as “great.”
I was looking forward to seeing Mary Poppins at the Muny all summer. Little did I know it would be changed so much from the original story line. The actors did a great job, but I just was not a fan of all the added songs and a drastic change to the story.
We had a fun time, even with the multiple trips to the bathroom with the boys.
It looks like she’s flying…no?
