Celebrate America

Each year, First Baptist Church of Arnold has a ‘Celebrate America’ event. There’s food, rides, a car show, a motocross show, and fireworks. This is our second year going. We met up with some families from church and enjoyed a fun night with beautiful weather.

I was so sure that Evangeline and Kingston would hate the fireworks. Evangeline actually giggled while watching them–which I guess pushed her into a slaphappy mood for the next hour, giggling about anything, everything, and nothing. Kai had a momentary breakdown from being scared, but he recovered quickly in his daddy’s arms.
It was such a fun evening! So glad that we went!

spring has sprung

This past weekend, Maggi and I set out on an adventure to take some pictures. She had just gotten back from her trip to Texas and I had yet to reunite with her. I’ll spare the details of the two times I managed to get us lost (the one time I trusted Siri instead of a good old fashioned map!) By the time we even made it to our destination, we realized that not only were the gates closed (Bellefontaine Cemetery) but we couldn’t even see any flowers at “Missouri’s other Botanical Gardens.” Maggi’s quick thinking took us to Art Hill and the beautiful orange and purple tulips…and about 2 billion gnats.

Getting lost did have its perks. It took us to the Gen 3 Quiktrip and their delicious, fresh pretzels.

So the evening didn’t go as planned. But it’s always a good time with Maggi.
The next day was Easter. For many years, it’s been a tradition to spend Easter at the Lees’ house with the Tuckahoe gang. The weather this year was perfect!

Before lunch, I grabbed the kids and took some pictures. They were not in the mood. This crooked picture is the best I got. It looks like a band picture, but I suppose it’s very fitting.

He is Risen! He is Risen Indeed!!
It still rings true, not only on Easter, but all throughout the year!
