In a Galaxy Far, Far Away

Today is November 3rd and I’m just now getting around to sharing our Halloween pictures. Three days doesn’t SEEM like a huge lapse of time to share an event. But when you have friends who are legit putting up Christmas trees and jamming to Christmas music, Halloween is no longer relevant. But here I am, sharing anyway.

So if you can suffer through a few more pictures of kids in costumes, I have a few I can share.

This year the kids dressed up as Star Wars characters (so original, I know!) Last year, on the day after Halloween, I came up with a fun family themed costume. But then I had a baby and it never came together. So we recycled their costumes that I made for them 2 years ago. Next year I hope to make my family costume dreams come true!

Liam as Luke from “Return of the Jedi.” Most people thought he was Darth Vader.//Kai as Obi-wan Kenobi. Some people thought he was Luke–shows how amazing I am at making costumes.

Kingston as Yoda.//Evangeline as Princess Leia.

We had two new additions to our crew since the last time we did the Star Wars theme. I had been wanting these little Chewbacca jammies for Desmond anyway so it gave me the perfect excuse to buy them.//The kids really wanted me to make a BB-8 onesie for Clementine. So on the night before Halloween, I was falling asleep on the couch and had to force myself to pry my eyes open and slave away on her costume, late into the night (aka-whipped it up in about 10 minutes at 8pm.) We affectionately gave her the nickname “bae-bae 8.”

Don even went all out this year and put on his Darth Vader shirt.

A little peek into how most of our pictures go with this little Wookie lately–darting off as soon as I go to take the picture.

And of course I would get them all looking and smiling while they are dressed in costumes and not when took our family pictures the night before. And also slightly blurry, I think. I’m having issues with my contacts lately and EVERYTHING is blurry..so that’s fun.

Like the past 2 years, this year we went to a Fall Festival on Halloween night. There are bounce houses, face painting, pony rides, etc. And the kids play games to win candy. And if you look below, you’ll see that it pays off to have 6 kids 😉

So now we can move on from Halloween and start looking forward to the other holidays. But no Christmas stuff for me yet because Christmas = cold and snow…and I’m not ready for that. But you do you. If you’re ready to deck the halls and sing Christmas carols, then go for it! Hope you’re having a good week!

October iPhone Photos

Wow! Okay, October was a pretty awesome, exhausting month. I’m sure by now, everyone already knows that Clementine is here! And if you didn’t know that, I think this post alone will make it quite apparent. It probably should have been named “Clementine iphone photos” because apparently I forgot to take pictures of almost everything else in the world. She 4 weeks old now so I think it’s time for me to start venturing out and photographing my other poor, photo-neglected children 😉

If you’re here from Instagram, there are a lot of repeats but also quite a few that I hadn’t shared. Sorry in advance for the insane amount of pictures!

October started with anticipation, pumpkins, and lots of weaving. I discovered how much I love weaving right before Clem was born. I hope to pick it back up once I am able to keep my eyes open past 8pm. But this is my first (imperfect) weaving that I’m pretty proud of. I’m still trying to figure out where to hang it. If anyone wants to come help me decide (and then decorate the rest of my house) I’d be okay with that 😉

If you read my birth story, you know that I spent most of the 3rd trying to figure out if I was in labor. I had Don snap a few last pictures, just in case.//And then we met this precious little babe.

Because of my hundreds of hospital visits when I had cancer, I kind of hate hospitals. I have mixed feelings now because this is where I have met my 6 babies. I’m already missing these days in the hospital and I wish I could go back and relive these days.//Clem got to meet her two new friends just hours after she was born, Matthias and Mabel, my two best friends’ babies.

And then we came home where she was showered with love from all of her siblings. Recovery has gotten easier and easier for me after each baby. I honestly never even felt like I had a baby besides an achy back from the epidural. So we got out of the house when she was two days old and went to Chick-fil-a for breakfast. With Liam (my first) I could barely sit down for at least a week after he was born. I much prefer this type of recovery.

I plan to write up a post about my favorite things for a new mom, but I will let you know that my Solly wrap is absolutely on my list! Also, a photo of our first Sunday at church as a family of 8! And another picture of Clem and Mabel in their matching outfits–there will be so many of these throughout the years!

It never ceases to amaze me that this tiny human was in my belly just weeks before.//We’re working with Des on how to be gentle with his sister. In the meantime, there are lots of eye pokes. But he’s warming up to her and loves to give her kisses.

We went to the park the other night to take a few fall family photos–I will be sharing those in the next week hopefully//I also have some Halloween pictures to share soon (when Halloween is no longer relevant, I know!) but here are a couple from my phone.

Whew! Did you make it through all of those pictures? I know there were a ton. Now that we’ve found our groove with 6 kids + homeschooling, I should be able to get back to blogging a little more frequently! And I promise to do better about documenting for a “Kids Say” post. Next month–hopefully!! Thanks for reading along!
