Welcome to my New Site!

Hi!!! I’m so excited to finally be able to share my new website with everyone! We’ve been working for a while to get all my content transferred and get everything up and running. There are some design aspects that will probably need to be tweaked–so over the next few months, you may notice a few changes happening here and there as we make adjustments. But I knew that if I waited until everything was “perfect,” then I may not ever share.

I never thought I would have my own .com address, but my husband encouraged me to buy one because he knew how much I enjoy blogging. I may not be a very good writer or the best with photography, but I enjoy sharing our lives and keeping it real. And thankfully I am married to someone who knows his way around computers and coding, so he’s been doing all the work to get things looking good (even putting his own website on hold to get this going for me!)

If you can’t see it very well on the mobile version, make sure you check out the full header on the desktop version! Rachel Gunby (patiently) worked with me to get the lettering of the “Raising Roberts” logo looking exactly how I wanted it, letter by letter! I absolutely recommend working with her for any graphic work (she also did the logo on my old blog as well!) You can contact her through her etsy shop or instagram.

The photo backdrop is just something I had envisioned to add a little interest to the top (without making the photo too overwhelming) and I couldn’t be happier about how it turned out–thanks to a little tripod/self timer action and that computer savvy husband of mine, who got it to look just as I imagined it! We will have to update the picture once baby girl joins our family but it’s perfect for now.

I hope you stick around and have a little look around the website 🙂  Let me know what you think! Thanks for reading!!

36 week bumpdate

Another bumpdate already? Probably overkill because I just did a 34 week bumpdate two weeks ago. But I had these pictures from last week with this amazing purple wall–so you will be graced with an update. You can thank me later.

This dress is another beauty from Mammabelle Maternity! It was just released last week. The print is gorgeous and it’s nursing friendly! As soon as I saw it, I knew I had to photograph it in front of this amazing purple house. And I have no regrets. I feel huge and swollen right now but I know a year from now, I’ll be looking back at these pictures and missing this huge belly.

I don’t know if I have shared already, but we bought a Suburban! It all happened so fast, thankfully! One day I was emailing a craigslist listing to our friend (who knows everything there is to know about vehicles) and the next day we started the process of buying it. We haven’t gotten the plates for it yet, so it has yet to be driven. But let it be known that I am terrified to drive that beast of a vehicle. I’m very thankful to not have to deal with that stress anymore! We will all be able to fit in one vehicle–and bonus(!!)–it’s not a dorky van 😉 (Dorky van drivers, don’t be offended!!)

Nesting is really kicking in (hello organization in every closet!!) and it’s really great but really exhausting. Also, hip pain and heartburn are taking over. But I can’t even complain because this stuff is only hitting me in the last month. My pregnancy with Desmond last year had me sick every single day from about 17 weeks on to the end. I can deal with a few weeks of this.

Can I just mention this really shocking bit of information? I’ve only eaten ice cream a couple times over the past couple of weeks and I’m not even really craving it anymore. It’s mostly because the heartburn makes me so sick in the evenings (when I would normally eat ice cream) that I don’t even want it. My postpartum self is thanking me now!

It’s really starting to sink in that we’ll be adding a new baby to our family very soon. Normally this is the point that I start getting anxiety about labor and delivery. This time I’m trying not to think about it too much. I can’t wait to meet our baby girl and introduce her to everyone!

I had to include the cutest donut eating kids! This was our way of keeping them entertained while Don snapped a few pictures of me.

Also, finishing out with some good news! My new website should be up and running next week. I can’t wait to finally share with you all! I hope you’re having a good week!
