Our Memorial Day this year involved a picnic, a lot of playing, and a fun evening at Citygarden. You may already know that I love making videos of our family. This time I did something a little bit different and made a vlog. It has a mixture of the videos I typically like to make along with some real life “home video” types of clips. We worked hard on this video and I hope other people love to watch it as much as we do. It’s a good glimpse into our lives as a big family with a lot of young children!
I also have quite a few pictures from the day that I’ll share with another post in the next few days! We have a few ideas for more vlogs in the near future as well so I hope you enjoy watching them as much as we enjoy making them!
Enjoy! Thanks for watching!

It’s almost Valentine’s Day! I think it’s safe to say that for the most part, people usually love or hate Valentine’s Day. I say that, but I don’t fit into either category. We don’t go out on Valentine’s Day–who wants to deal with the crowds anyway! And we don’t do gifts. (Although, if he wants to buy me chocolate or ice cream, I won’t object 😉 hint, hint) But I do love spending the days leading up to Valentine’s Day by making it special for the kids–cutting their peanut butter and jelly sandwiches into hearts (which has turned into a year round event), using pink food coloring in all kinds of stuff, and just throwing in as much of the pink/red/heart stuff as possible.
This past week, I learned about Personal Capital. They’re a company all about helping people better manage their money with free financial tools and wanted to raise awareness about how to make someone feel special without breaking the bank. This is not a sponsored post but I did think it would be fun to join in because that’s exactly what we already aim to do–show our love without spending a ton of money to do it.
I asked the kids what they thought about making cookies and Valentine’s cards for their BFFs and making a little video about it. They were super excited. What they loved best of all is that the video was going to show them doing everything “all by themselves.” And minus needing my help to measure a few things, they really did do it by themselves.
So hopefully this video shows you that you don’t need to spend a lot of money to make someone feel loved. Sometimes all it takes is a little thought and sugar 😉
